Dr. Anja Lochner studied at the Charité, Medical school of Berlin from 2006 to 2012.

She became a doctoral student of Prof. Gunga in 2009 and joined Dr Oliver Opatz’ research team on thermophysiology. In 2013 she successfully completed her doctoral thesis ‚Measurement of body temperature during cardiothoracic surgery in deep hypothermia’ in cooperation with the German Heart Institute Berlin.

Anja has always been fascinated by extreme environments. At the moment she is in the process of obtaining her diploma of mountain medicine.

She is now working as a medical doctor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital of Freiburg.
